🚗✨ GCES Wildcats – New Parent Pick-Up Procedures! ✨🚗 To help make dismissal safer and more efficient this year, we’re introducing a new parent pick-up process starting for the 2025–26 school year. Here’s what you can expect: 📛 Students will receive book bag name tags 🚗 Parents will be given car placards at Open House and during the first few weeks of school 👋 Just show and go in the pick-up loop – staff will radio for your child ❗ Forgot your placard? No problem – just park and sign your child out in the office. We know change can take time, and we appreciate your support and patience as we roll this out. Our goal is to keep your children safe and make pick-up smooth for everyone. 🐾 🕒 Reminder: Parent Pick-Up ends at 3:45 daily!

Summer School will be delayed ONE HOUR on Friday, July 18th. This will allow more time for students to engage in the planned filed trip activity. For example, if your child typically gets on the bus at 7:30am, they will get on the bus at 8:30am; if they get off the bus at 2:30pm, they will get off the bus at 3:30pm. If you have any questions, please call your child's school office. Thank you!

🎨🖍✏️ Our rising kindergarteners are getting a boost this summer through Save the Children’s KinderBoost program at GCES! Even though most of these students already know their way around from Pre-K, KinderBoost is giving them an extra head start with hands-on learning, playful activities, and a chance to build even more confidence before the big jump to kindergarten. From outdoor painting fun to working with numbers, letters, and rhyming sounds, we’re excited to see these young learners continue to grow and shine! #GoGilmer

Summer School Programs begin in Gilmer County on Monday, June 16th. SummerBoost is for our K-5th grade students at GCES, while credit recovery will be offered at GCHS. Friendly reminder: Gilmer County Schools will be dismissing students three hours early today, May 30th. School buses will also run three hours earlier than usual.
