Gilmer County High School’s Communities In Schools would like to thank Glenville State University’s Early Education Student Group and their Student Reading Interest Group for their generous donations of prom/homecoming dresses for the students of Gilmer County High School. These two groups set up a collection site at Glenville State and spent time working with local thrift shops to gather up dresses for students who may be in need. The groups went above and beyond in their efforts as they spent time washing and ensuring each dress was ready to be taken home and used.
“These donations have been such a wonderful blessing to the Titan Closet at GCHS, said Alecia Martin, GCHS CIS Liaison, “The donation of dresses will assist Communities In Schools in removing barriers for students to allow them the opportunity to experience some of high school’s most memorable moments. We truly thank the GSU community for partnering with us and making their used dresses someone else’s dream come true.”
Thank you Glenville State University students for helping to provide a much needed service for our students! If there are any students still in need of dance attire, please see Alecia Martin or Kasey Miller in the CIS office.
