We were honored to welcome Dr. Jason Barr and Professor Jeremy Kirk from the Glenville State University Department of Fine Arts (Music) to GCHS for a truly special moment.
They surprised two of our exceptional music students, Marelly Medrano and Catelynn Parsons, with an extraordinary honor — each has been awarded a full-ride scholarship to study music at Glenville State University in the College of Fine Arts. The scholarship presentation was also formally delivered by Mrs. Sheri Goff, GSU Financial Aid Counselor, who joined in recognizing these students’ outstanding achievement.
This recognition is especially significant, as it marks the first time in the past decade that GSU has awarded this level of scholarship to a GCHS student.
“When I was a band director, there was a saying: take care of your backyard. GCHS has long been a part of our backyard,” shared Dr. Barr. “This is an opportunity to graduate from college completely debt-free.”
