This week, Gilmer County High School seniors will celebrate several milestone events leading up to commencement.
On Thursday, May 21, GCHS will host the annual Senior Assembly in the GCHS Gym. Seniors must arrive no later than 8:30 AM and report to the Commons Area.
Following the Senior Assembly, the Class of 2026 will leave GCHS for the final time as students. Seniors will then:
Travel by bus to Gilmer County Elementary School to parade the halls in their caps and gowns
Enjoy a catered lunch at Glenville State University
Return to GCHS before heading to the Waco Center for graduation practice
Senior Assembly Day Itinerary
• 8:30 AM — Seniors arrive at GCHS (Commons Area)
• 9:00 AM — Senior Assembly in the GCHS Gym
• Approx. 10:45 AM — Cap and gown walk at GCES
• Approx. 11:20 AM — Lunch at Glenville State University
• Approx. 1:00 PM — Graduation practice at the Waco Center
Graduation Ceremony
Commencement exercises will take place Sunday, May 24, at the Waco Center.
• Doors Open: 1:00 PM
• Seniors Arrive: No later than 1:30 PM
• Ceremony Begins: 2:00 PM
Photography Information for Graduation
Murphy Photography and Film (Quentin Murphy) will photograph the ceremony. Each senior will receive one free downloadable photo of receiving their diploma. Additional photos will be available for purchase once the gallery link is released.
