⭐CONGRATULATIONS!!!⭐
Here are your GCES Math Field Day Winners. These students placed at the school level and competed at the county Math Field Day Competition. #GoGilmer

🌟CONGRATULATIONS🌟 to Mrs. Frashure's 5th Grade Math Class for receiving the Superintendent's GOAT Award. Mrs. Frashure has been implementing the teaching method, "Building a Thinking Classroom." This model creates a thinking-centered math classroom that involves encouraging exploration, problem-solving, and critical thinking. Students are constantly engaging in group discussions and incorporating open-ended questions to solve problems and deepen their mathematical skills.
Recently, these students have applied their knowledge of multiplying and dividing decimals to solve a real-world task about finding the cheapest way to buy pizza for a large group. They continue to work hard everyday to build a thinking classroom. #GoGilmer

On Thursday, kindergarten hosted a Charlie Brown Thanksgiving Feast and parents were invited to attend. Of course, on Snoopy's menu was toast, popcorn, pretzel sticks, jelly beans and ice cream. Mr. Price also spoke to parents about the importance of attendance and how chronic absenteeism may prevent children from reaching early learning milestones. #GoGilmer

GCES would like to wish our families a safe and enjoyable Thanksgiving break!

Mrs. Price and Mrs. Debbie's little kindergarten "turkeys" enjoyed playing some turkey games to kick off Thanksgiving Break🦃 #GoGilmer
