Happy New Year, Titans! Here's the week at-a-glance for the week of January 1st.
Note: The varsity boys basketball game versus Clay that was scheduled for January 3rd has been canceled.
Our CIS liaisons were hard at work this week, providing fun and exciting incentives for students to come to school!
On Wednesday, students enjoyed a sweet ice cream treat with their lunch.
Thursday, students enjoyed a hot cocoa bar with an array of delightful toppings that paired wonderfully with the chilly first day of winter.
Finally, our middle school enjoyed a variety of "reindeer games" this afternoon for a bit of fun before the holiday break!
We'd like to thank the "Girls of United Bank" for their generous donation of toppings for today's hot cocoa bar. The support of our community partners is an integral element of what we do here at GCHS and furthers our efforts to serve the best interests of students.

Mr. Cox's Animal Processing classes have been hard at work in the lab slicing ham for the cooks in preparation for the Christmas luncheon tomorrow! Students used the slicer and scales to make sure that each slice is a certain size before repacking.
In the future, expect to see more and more synergy between our animal processing lab and nutrition in Gilmer County Schools in an effort to bring local meat and produce to the menu. "One of the reasons for wanting this lab was to collaborate with the cooks and help them out for certain meals like this," said Cox.
We are all looking forward to tomorrow's lunch!
