Science in action! 🔬🔥

Ms. Ramezan’s Science 7 students got hands-on with a lab exploring chemical reactions that release energy!

They observed heat being released when combining different substances, helping them connect what they saw in the lab to how our cells create energy through cellular respiration. 💡

The Gilmer County Family Support Center is sponsoring an event for students in 3rd grade and older. Please see the flyer for more information and call GCFSC to reserve a spot for your chef. Thanks!

Students in Grades 6th through 12th may begin staying after school on Monday, September 15th for tutoring. We will have certified teachers providing a quiet space for students to work on classwork or homework. Support will be provided as needed. If you have any questions, please email or call Miss West: ccwest@k12.wv.us or 304.462.7386 ext. 170.

Students in 1st grade through 12th grade are invited to participate in the Gilmer County Literature Fair. Registration Forms are due by Friday, September 19th. The Gilmer County Literature Fair will be Friday, October 3rd, followed by Regional Competition at the WACO Center on Saturday, October 25th. Please email or call Miss West if you have any questions. Reading and ELA teachers can also help provide paperwork to students; just ask your teacher.

CHANGES TO GCHS ATHLETICS TICKETS/SEASON PASSES:

2025-2026 GCHS Game Admission is $7.00 per ticket.

Titan Nation Single Season Athletic Passes are available and will be sold at the beginning of each Fall, Winter and Spring Season. Passes for the Fall Sports Season only, which includes Football and Volleyball are currently on sale. The cost is $150 per person to include one guest for all regular season home events. Anyone wishing to purchase the pass can fill out the attached form and turn it into the GCHS Office, along with the $150 payment. All pass holders will sign in at the ticket gate for each home game they attend.

Mrs. Sponaugle and Mrs. Workman surprised our middle school students with popcorn to celebrate the week. Thank you to Marelly Medrano for adding fun and encouraging words on each bag. 🍿

Student Council also stepped in to support our teachers by providing lemonade, bottled water, and drink packets. 🍋 🥤

Don't miss out on the annual FREE College Fair at GSU! The fair will take place on September 10th at the Waco Center. This is a great opportunity to network with college and university representatives from all over the state.

Permission forms are available in the main office, and must be returned by Mr. Reed by September 3rd.
