🏀 Basketball updates📣: The middle school girls and boys home basketball games vs. New Martinsville that were scheduled for Saturday, January 24, have been canceled. The varsity boys game at Wahama that was scheduled for Saturday, January 24, has also been canceled. This game will be rescheduled.

A big milestone for Gilmer County Schools! 🎉 Today, we officially cut the ribbon on our brand new weight facility, complete with all-new equipment to help elevate training and performance.

This facility reflects our commitment to health, wellness, and the long-term development of our student-athletes, both on and off the field.

This project was a true team effort led by Board Members Larry Barton and Brett Chapman.

🏀 Special Recognition Night – Honoring the 2016 Class A Girls Basketball State Champions! 🏆

Join us on Saturday, January 17, 2026, as we celebrate the incredible achievement of our 2016 Class A Girls Basketball State Championship Team!

The recognition will take place between the JV and Varsity games during our matchup against Tug Valley.

JV Game: Starts at 6:00 PM (2 quarters)
Immediately following the JV game, we will honor and recognize the members of the 2016 championship team on the court.

Come out and show your support for these amazing athletes who made history! Let’s pack the gym and make it a night to remember! 💙🏀

On December 5, a pizza party was held for the middle school homerooms with the best attendance during the month of November. Congratulations to Mrs. Facemire’s homeroom (6th grade)!

For the second month in a row, Mrs. Ramezan’s homeroom (7th grade) and Mrs. McHenry’s homeroom (8th grade) claimed the top spot in their grades. Will another homeroom rise to the challenge in December, or will they make it three months in a row? Stay tuned! 👀🍕
