🌿 Our 6th graders had an exciting day at Cedar Creek for Conservation Day on Wednesday, April 30th!
Students explored a variety of hands-on learning stations covering topics like water quality, forestry, wildlife, snakes, beekeeping, soil, horticulture, and navigation using a compass.
It was a fun and educational experience that brought science and nature to life in the great outdoors! Great job, 6th grade! 🍃

Some baseball and softball updates:
The high school softball game at Tucker County that was scheduled for Saturday, May 3 has been canceled.
The middle school softball game vs. Spencer Middle that was scheduled for April 30 has been canceled. The goal is to reschedule this contest.
This week, the WV Treasury Department visited our 7th and 8th graders to present "Get A Life," a fun and eye-opening financial literacy simulation! 💸
Students started with "red cards" — jobs available in WV without post-secondary education — and quickly realized how tough it can be to cover expenses like cars, homes, insurance, and groceries. 🚗🏠📈
Most ended up in debt... until they switched to "green cards," representing careers that require college or trade school. With those, they were able to budget smarter and even save money!

📝 Students will receive their 4th marking period mid-term reports tomorrow, April 28.
👨🏫👩🏫 Parent-Teacher Conferences are scheduled for Thursday, May 1st from 5:00–6:30 PM. We look forward to seeing you there!
💻 We’ll also begin collecting devices and chargers for grades 6–8 to prepare for the West Virginia General Summative Assessment. This will help ensure everything is ready for testing!
