Like in years past, we will be offering credit recovery for students who need to recover a credit from the regular school year so they will not have to make up that credit in the next year.
We also want to provide enrichment for any students who would like a little boost in training in a subject area in preparation for next year. New this year, we would like to offer the opportunity for an elective credit for a summer course centered on science and engineering practices. There will be hands-on activities, projects, research and some writing involved. Students that participate in this program for the duration of the summer can receive an hour of elective credit on their transcript.
There will be a trip each Friday for students making adequate progress in their program. There’ll be breakfast and lunch each day, and transportation will be provided along the main routes.
For more information, please contact Mr. Fisher (tmfisher@k12.wv.us) or Mrs. Fox (Michaela.fox@k12.wv.us) at Gilmer County High School.
There's not much to look at this week since summer break is here! However, it's still your week-at-a-glance: Titan Connect!

GCHS prospective graduates were honored today at the annual "Senior Awards Assembly". This ceremony is a celebration of the hard work and achievements of our seniors as well as a showcase of how talented these young men and women are. They represent the future of our community, and that future is bright.
At this time, we extend a heartfelt congratulations to each of our distinguished seniors who earned honors, scholarships, awards, certificates, and other recognitions. We are proud of our prospective graduates for their exceptional accomplishments in the classroom, the simulated workplace, and in various competitions. These accolades were made possible by their unyielding determination, indomitable will, and stolid perseverance in the face of great adversity.
We also would like to express deepest appreciation to the generous organizations, community members, alumni, and institutions of higher learning who have made these scholarships and awards possible.
